How it works
- Tell us what you need. Fill out the short form below (it takes about a minute).
- We pass it to a local pro. We share your request with an independent chimney professional who serves your area.
- They reach out to you. You talk with them directly, get their price, and decide whether to hire them. There's no obligation.
We're a referral website, not a chimney company. We don't do the work, set prices, or guarantee anyone's work, so ask any pro about licensing, insurance and certifications before you hire. More about how this site works.
Chimney needs around Lake Wylie
The Lake Wylie community sits on the York County side of the lake, which straddles the North Carolina–South Carolina line. If you're on the North Carolina side, you can still send a request; just mention your town in the form so we can check whether a pro serves your address.
Homes around the lake include everything from older cottages to large newer houses, often with gas fireplaces, outdoor fireplaces or factory-built units. Common requests:
- Leaks around the chimney. Water can get in through a cracked crown, a missing or damaged cap, worn mortar, or failed flashing where the chimney meets the roof. Fixing the source early helps prevent bigger repairs. See chimney repair.
- Annual sweep and inspection before the first fire of the season. See chimney sweeping and chimney inspection.
- Gas fireplace tune-ups for units that won't light or don't look right. See gas fireplace service.
- Animals and debris. Leaves, nests and critters are a common reason a fireplace suddenly draws poorly.
A note about chimney swifts
Chimney swifts are small migratory birds that nest inside masonry chimneys during the warm months. They're protected by the federal Migratory Bird Treaty Act, so an active nest (with eggs or young) can't legally be removed without a federal permit. The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service recommends having chimneys cleaned outside swift season, which for most of the country is roughly September/October through March/April. If you hear chattering in your chimney in summer, a pro can advise you on timing.
